Raquel A. Lacayo-Valle is an associate who practices in the areas of labor and employment, professional liability, and business and insurance litigation. Ms. Lacayo-Valle's practice includes all aspects of discovery, law and motion, pre-trial, and trial work. Prior to joining CPW, Ms. Lacayo-Valle was a Public Defender in Alameda County for nearly five years. She worked on adult criminal matters for a year and then represented children and parents in juvenile dependency hearings. Ms. Lacayo-Valle's juvenile dependency practice included bench trials, mediation, advice, and counseling. While in law school, Ms. Lacayo-Valle was co-managing editor of the Hastings Women's Law Journal. She also studied in the international law program at Leiden University, The Netherlands and clerked at the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency. Prior to law school, Ms. Lacayo-Valle worked for four years in the San Francisco Mayor's Office as an associate planner setting citywide policy affecting children, youth, and families. Ms. Lacayo-Valle graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in English, and in 2001 with a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
