Mark White is one of the founding partners of CPW. He has practiced in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 30 years and handles cases in both state and federal courts in the fields of business and commercial disputes, insurance coverage and bad faith, professional liability, employment, construction and products liability, and civil rights. Throughout his career, Mr. White has served as co-counsel with lawyers from various nonprofit organizations on cases involving constitutional rights, environmental issues, tenants' rights and other matters of public importance.

Prior to coming to the Bay Area, Mr. White practiced at a large law firm in Detroit, following a federal district court clerkship there. Mr. White has lectured publicly on civil procedure and emerging developments in torts and insurance practice. He has served both as a judge pro tem and as a special master for the San Francisco Superior Court, and for a number of years has been a regular panelist with the court’s early settlement program, sponsored by the Bar Association of San Francisco. In addition, Mr. White taught for a number of years as an adjunct professor of evidence and trial advocacy at University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Mr. White is an active member of the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association, the Bar Association of San Francisco, the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California, the Professional Liability Underwriting Society, and is a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

Mr. White received a bachelor of arts in business administration with honors from Michigan State University in 1973. He received his J.D. with honors from the University of Michigan in 1976.
